As the principal applicant, you must commit to the annual tax payment for at least five years, spend at least 45 days a year on the island, and declare that you spend less than 183 days per calendar year in any other country, with your center of vital interest in Anguilla.
Applicants for the Anguilla Residency-by-Investment Programme must not represent a potential national security or reputational risk and should not be under criminal investigation. A clean bill of health is also required.
Anguilla is accessible via one-stop flights from North America, Europe, and Latin America, primarily through major gateways such as the United States mainland, Puerto Rico, St. Maarten, and Antigua. In addition, regularly scheduled ferries and private charters facilitate travel between Anguilla and St. Maarten, ensuring convenient connections by air and sea.
The processing time for applications under both the Anguilla Residency-by-Investment and the Anguilla High-Value Resident (HVR) Programmes typically takes up to three months, provided there are no concerns or issues with the application.
The HVR Programme is designed for highly successful investors and entrepreneurs who live internationally and are willing to relinquish tax residency in their home countries.
By residing on the island for at least 270 days a year over five years, you can apply for a British Overseas Territories passport. Additionally, after 19 years of residency in Anguilla, you become eligible for a British passport.
