STEP 1: Create an Innovative, Viable, and Scalable Business Plan

OPTION 2: Obtain a Substantial Business Presence Residency Certificate

STEP 2: Procure a Letter of Endorsement
- Obtain a letter from an approved UK endorsing body that will:
- Evaluate your contribution to the business ideas
- Confirm your role as a key member or sole founder
- Assess your business’s innovative, viable, and scalable aspects
- Verify your involvement in daily operations
- Schedule two contact meetings with you before issuing the endorsement letter, which must be dated within three months of your visa application.
STEP 3: Demonstrate Knowledge of English Language
- Show English language proficiency equivalent to CEFR level B2, unless exempt.
STEP 4: Meet the Financial Requirement
- If you are outside the UK or have been in the UK for less than 12 months, prove you have held the following funds for 28 days:
- £1,270 for yourself
- £285 for a dependent partner
- £315 for the first child
- £200 for each additional child
STEP 5: Supply a Medical Certificate
- Provide a health certificate confirming that you have undergone screening for active pulmonary tuberculosis, unless exempt.
STEP 6: Obtain Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) as an Innovator Founder
- Demonstrate:
- Endorsement by a UK endorsing body with significant achievements aligned with your business plan
- Registration with Companies House as a Director or Member of your business
- Active, sustainable business operations for at least 12 months
- Active involvement in the daily management of the business
- Meet at least two of the following criteria:
- Invested at least £50,000 into the business
- Created at least five full-time jobs for settled workers with an average salary of £25,000 per year
- Created at least 10 full-time jobs for resident workers without salary requirements
- Doubled the number of customers in the past three years compared to similar UK businesses
- Engaged in significant R&D and applied for UK intellectual property protection
- Generated a minimum annual gross revenue of £1 million or £500,000 with at least £100,000 from exports
- Spent no more than 180 days outside the UK in any rolling 12-month period during the past three years
- Demonstrated sufficient knowledge of English and life in the UK
