According to Daily News, Egypt now allows passport holders from 74 countries to obtain a visa to the country electronically.

The step is part of the country’s efforts to boost the tourist movement.

Egypt is facilitating the procedures for obtaining electronic tourist visas, by adding 28 new nationalities to the 46 nationalities covered by the system.

Ghada Shalaby, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Tourism Affairs, indicated that the modernization of this system came in conjunction with the first anniversary of Egypt resuming the incoming tourism movement.

Shalaby pointed out that this update will contribute to encouraging more tourists of different nationalities to visit Egypt.

The portal for obtaining a tourist visa electronically is supported in eight languages and allows for various tourist inquiries to be answered.

The system provides a secure electronic payment feature to pay for the tourist visa, which is $25 for one trip or $60 for multiple trips, with the visa issued in a maximum of seven days.
